Permanent make-up can replace daily applying and removing of make-up and touching up, for example with microblading (hair-stroke drawing of the eyebrows), with the lid line or with lip pigmentation. The pigmentation does not smudge and remains intact even during sport, swimming, in the sauna and on holiday.
We use colours from the brands Phi and Labina, which contain no heavy metals. Allergic reactions are rare but cannot be ruled out. Permanent make-up lasts a long time but, unlike a tattoo, fades over time. How intense the colour looks and how long it lasts varies depending on skin type. On average, it remains visible for about 1 to 4 years.

How does a permanent make-up treatment work?
This is how permanent make-up proceeds at the Klinik am Seestern, from the consultation to the touch-up:
Step 1
Beforehand
Consultation in Düsseldorf. In the consultation, we choose the colour and style, from very subtle and natural to a version that looks more strongly made-up, and discuss which medication you take. You can book your appointment online.
Step 2
Before the treatment
Cleansing and disinfecting. Before we treat the area of the face, it is thoroughly cleansed and disinfected.
Step 3
1 to 2.5 hours
The pigmentation. Using a fine needle, the colour pigments are carefully introduced into the skin, similar to a tattoo. What matters here are the skilled execution of the style agreed with you and the right depth at which the pigments are introduced. With increasing experience, the practitioner can respond better to your wishes.
Step 4
Straight afterwards
The result. The result is visible straight after the treatment. Minor swelling or skin redness can occur and usually subsides after a few hours to days.
Step 5
After 4 to 6 weeks
Touch-up. For lip pigmentation, the pigmentation is touched up after 4 to 6 weeks. The colour is intensified and minor irregularities are corrected.
Which areas of the face can be treated with permanent make-up?
The duration of the treatment depends on the area of the face and the treatment desired. As guide values, about 60 minutes apply for lash line enhancement, about 120 minutes for an eyeliner, about 120 minutes for microblading and about 150 minutes for a complete lip pigmentation.

Before the pigmentation, we choose a colour that suits your skin tone, your age and your style. There are delicate, light and natural shades, but also stronger ones that look like lipstick. The shape of the lips is then pre-drawn. It can be designed to look natural, fuller, more curved or more symmetrical. After 4 to 6 weeks, the pigmentation is touched up. The colour is intensified and minor irregularities are corrected. On request, the colour can then be made slightly lighter or darker.

I have had herpes before. What do I need to bear in mind with permanent make-up?
If you have had herpes before, you should take preventive measures with suitable medication before and after the treatment. Otherwise the result of the pigmentation can be impaired.
I take medication regularly. Is that a risk with permanent make-up?
We need to know which medication you take, what for and in what dose. Anticoagulant medication in particular can make the treatment more difficult. Please speak to your treating doctor about whether temporarily stopping it is possible. We are also happy to consult our doctors at the Klinik am Seestern.
I have already had a treatment with fillers. What is important to know?
If you have already had a wrinkle or lip treatment with fillers, for example hyaluronic acid, it should be at least 3 weeks in the past before permanent make-up is carried out. A combination of filler injection and permanent make-up is possible. In that case, the pigmentation should be done first and the injection after a waiting period of about 3 weeks.

I had my appointment at the practice for a consultation about my lipoedema, and I really want to leave a review even though I haven't had any surgery there yet. The reason is that this was the first time I felt truly taken seriously during an examination of my lipoedema. Dr. Witt was very friendly and professional from the start, and at the same time incredibly pleasant and humane. He took an exceptional amount of time, examined me very thoroughly and answered all my questions in detail. He is incredibly respectful and explains realistically what could be done and how the whole process would work. I found it particularly positive that at no point did a hectic or unpleasant mood arise. You never had the feeling of being “brushed off” or being under time pressure. Instead, the whole atmosphere was calm, relaxed and trusting. Dr. Witt was very committed, photos were taken of the affected areas and every possible treatment was explained in an understandable way. Although he is an absolute specialist in his field, I felt at all times that I could speak openly and ask any question. It felt more as if I had been a patient there for a long time. It was also particularly important to me that I never felt pushed towards an operation. It is still not at all clear whether I will have my operation at all, and yet I was taken incredibly seriously and treated with respect. That is exactly what built so much trust in me. I would also very much like to mention the lady at reception, Marris, in a positive way. She was super polite, had a very pleasant and calm manner and immediately gave me a good feeling. Although it was almost 5 p.m. and the end of the working day was approaching, she was incredibly friendly to me and did not seem at all annoyed or stressed. It is precisely such little things that make a huge difference to me personally and reinforced my positive overall impression of the practice. The practice itself is also absolutely impressive. It is extremely modern, high-quality and stylishly furnished. You feel more as if you are entering a luxury hotel than a traditional doctor's practice. Everything seems very well thought out, calm and professional. The organisation around the appointment was also excellent. Even before the appointment, communication was always very friendly, quick and professional. Questions were answered immediately and the whole process seemed perfectly organised. I was also allowed to park in the clinic's car park, which was an enormous relief since everything in the area was completely full. Although it was already later in the afternoon, Dr. Witt even personally saw to it that enquiries were made internally about my question regarding costs. Shortly after I had left the practice, I already received all the information by email. That too simply shows how professionally and attentively they work there. Overall, an exceptionally positive experience, of a kind you unfortunately only rarely have in the medical field. Absolutely fabulous.
