Which treatment is right for me?

One question, and you will see which treatments could suit what you have in mind.

For me, a procedure is …

No-obligation guidance – does not replace medical advice. Which treatment suits you is something you clarify with your specialist in the consultation.

Which path suits you?

Not every path suits everyone. GLP-1 therapy manages without a procedure. A gastric balloon reduces the size of the stomach for a few months and is possible from a BMI of 27. The endo-sleeve reduces the size of the stomach permanently during a gastroscopy, without an incision through the abdominal wall. From a BMI of around 40, stomach surgery may come into consideration, a gastric sleeve or gastric bypass; you will be advised and given aftercare for it in Düsseldorf, and the operation takes place at the Weight Doctors’ Nationalklinik in Wertheim. What they all have in common: they are aids, and whether the weight stays down depends on how you change your diet and exercise.

That is why every treatment includes support from nutrition coaching and an app, and you can also book nutritional advice on its own. We decide with you, after the examination, which path makes sense. A combination is also possible, for example GLP-1 therapy after a gastric balloon.

Methods compared

Three paths to losing weight with medical support

Without a procedure, with a balloon for a limited time, or with a permanent stomach reduction. The most important differences at a glance.

01GLP-1 therapywithout a procedure

A prescription-only active substance that you inject yourself once a week acts like the body’s own hormone GLP-1. It can reduce the feeling of hunger and empty the stomach more slowly, so that the feeling of fullness lasts longer.

Procedurenone, use at home
Use
Injection once a week
Anaesthesia
none
Support

02Gastric balloonfor a limited time

A balloon is placed during a gastroscopy or swallowed as a capsule and filled with fluid in the stomach. It takes up space there, so that you feel full sooner, and is removed or excreted after 4 to 12 months.

ProcedureGastroscopy or capsule

03Endo-sleevepermanent, without an incision

During a gastroscopy, the stomach is gathered from the inside and sutured with anchors. Nothing is removed; the stomach retains about a quarter of its volume. The procedure is intended to be permanent.

What does weight loss with medical support cost in Düsseldorf?

The costs depend on the path you choose. There are four packages for the gastric balloon; the standard package starts at €3,500. GLP-1 therapy starts at €330 a month, nutrition coaching at €159. For the endo-sleeve, you receive a no-obligation offer after the consultation. Financing is possible through our financing partner.

The gastric balloon and GLP-1 therapy are generally self-pay services. For a stomach reduction, German statutory health insurance can cover the costs if there is a medical indication. You will find all the details under Costs and German health insurance.

After weight loss: skin tightening at the specialist clinic

After a large weight loss, the skin often does not retract on its own, especially on the abdomen, upper arms and thighs. As a specialist clinic for plastic and aesthetic surgery, we tighten these areas in the same building in which you were supported during weight loss. You can read more about this under Skin tightening after weight loss.
