Deutsches Nasenzentrum® in Düsseldorf: consultation, surgery and aftercare in one place

Consultation room of the clinic
Consultation room

Deutsches Nasenzentrum® is part of Klinik am Seestern. Your nose surgery takes place there from the first consultation to the follow-up appointments afterwards: the specialist clinic for plastic and aesthetic surgery has its own operating theatres and patient rooms. You are advised and operated on in the same building where you stay after the procedure, if an overnight stay is necessary, and where you return for aftercare.

The clinic is on the left bank of the Rhine in Lörick, in the Am Seestern office district near the B7. The U77 runs directly from the main station to the Am Seestern stop, and there is free parking on site. This also makes the follow-up appointments after the operation easy to reach from all over Düsseldorf, from Meerbusch, Neuss and the surrounding area.

Functional and aesthetic nasal surgery at Klinik am Seestern

Deutsches Nasenzentrum® at Klinik am Seestern is headed by Dr. med. Michael Bromba.

Whether it is a matter of functional problems such as breathing difficulties, the correction of misalignments of the nasal septum, or aesthetic changes such as rhinoplasty, nose reduction or nose enlargement: modern surgical procedures are used at Deutsches Nasenzentrum® Düsseldorf. The nose shapes the face and is at the same time important for breathing. This is why functional and aesthetic aspects are considered together in the planning.

In the consultation we take time for your wishes and questions, examine your nose and discuss with you which treatment is an option in your case, how it works and what risks there are. Feel free to arrange an appointment for a no-obligation consultation.

Nose surgery at Deutsches Nasenzentrum®: which procedure suits you?

Deutsches Nasenzentrum® offers 15 procedures on the nose, from correcting the nose tip to total nasal reconstruction. They differ above all in how much is changed on the nose: a single part, the shape of the whole nose or its rebuilding after a previous operation, a malformation or an injury. The duration of the operation, the stay in the clinic and the time until you are back out among people depend on this.

Whether the operation is performed open or closed depends on the extent of the procedure: with the open technique, a small incision is made at the columella; with the closed technique, all incisions are inside the nose.

How long the operation takes and how long you stay at Klinik am Seestern depends on how much is changed on your nose. The drawings show schematically which part of the nose is changed.

03Restorationshape and function

After a previous nose operation, in the case of a cleft nose, or after cancer, an accident or a bite injury, the shape and function of the nose are restored: in secondary nasal surgery, cleft nose correction and total nasal reconstruction. Cartilage from your own body may be needed for this, for example from the ear or rib; a total nasal reconstruction is usually carried out in several surgical steps.

How your nose surgery at Klinik am Seestern works

Several months pass between the consultation and the final result. The times apply to most procedures at Deutsches Nasenzentrum®; after a restoration, much takes longer. You will receive your own schedule in the consultation.

  1. Step 1

    Beforehand

Consultation in Düsseldorf. It begins with a detailed consultation and planning: we examine your nose, consider it in relation to your facial features and decide together what is to be changed. You can book your appointment online.

  2. Step 2

    Day of surgery

The procedure. The operation is usually performed under general anaesthesia and, depending on its extent, takes approx. 1 to 3 hours, a restoration approx. 4 to 6 hours. Afterwards, a splint stabilises the nose.

  3. Step 3

    The first few days

Rest. Smaller procedures are possible as an outpatient; most often you stay one or two nights at the clinic. Swelling and bruising are normal; keep your head raised and cool the area as directed by your doctor.

  4. Step 4

    Weeks 1 to 2

Plaster splint. You wear the plaster splint for the first one to two weeks. During this time, avoid nicotine, sunbathing and sport, and wash your hair bending over.

  5. Step 5

    After about 14 days

Back to everyday life. The stitches are removed after approx. 14 days. You are usually back out among people after one to two weeks, after a restoration after two to three weeks. In most cases you are unable to work for approx. 14 days.

  6. Step 6

    Up to week 6

No glasses. For the first six weeks after the operation, you should not wear glasses that press on the bridge of the nose.

  7. Step 7

    After a few months

The result. The swelling gradually goes down; the final result is only visible after several months.
